Description of Duties
The Instructional Services Office (ISO) of the San Diego Community College
District performs the mission of coordination of District-wide curriculum and
instructional activities, as well as other responsibilities assigned by the
Assistant Chancellor, Instructional Services. The ISO provides District liaison with the
State Chancellor’s Office, as well as with instructional leaders of the three
District colleges – City, Mesa, and Miramar – and the District Centers for Education & Technology system. The ISO maintains oversight of District curriculum to ensure its compliance with statutes, regulations, policies and procedures; as part of this responsibility, the ISO serves as the repository of the master course inventory, maintaining official outlines and rosters of programs approved for the District colleges. The ISO
coordinates the management of the curriculum development process, as well as
provides oversight of articulation, transfer, and general education. The ISO publishes the college catalogs and
coordinates the production of the schedule of classes for the District
colleges. Liaison services are rendered
between District-wide curriculum and instructional activities and the Student
Services and Information Technology Departments. As the District adapts to changing educational demands, the ISO
assumes new responsibilities supportive of that effort.
